I am a principal researcher at Spatial Media Research Lab., Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). I earned my Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Hanyang University. During my Ph.D., I was fortunate to join the computer vision group in Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures & Augmented Reality (CAMP) at Technical University of Munich (TUM). Before joining the ETRI, I was a postdoctoral research fellow in Dept. of Virtual and Augmented Reality at Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD). My research focuses on 3D computer vision for augmented/mixed/extended reality (AR/MR/XR), specializing in 6D pose estimation, localization and mapping, 3D reconstruction/recomposition, as well as currently exploring 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), geometric foundation models, end-to-end 3D learning.
